Barb Totzke, a senior athletic director at SMU until 2006, and owner of Tsada Yoga until 2014, holds a Master's degree in kinesiology. Barb has been practicing yoga since 2001, and is now teaching yoga as well as organizing and promoting healing workshops. Barb and Douchka have been working closely for over 10 years, making them a strong team for our program. Her current teaching style reflects a complimentary mix of yin & yang, reinforcing a balance of strength & softness, of power & surrender, of challenge & acceptance - always acknowledging the physical practice is but one small part of the wisdom that is yoga. Celeste Larson, L.M.T. & Y.T., began her massage practice in 2005, and has 7 years of experience at a chiropractic office. Her deep knowledge of anatomy defines her massage technique, where the focus is on addressing issues of chronic pain, injury and misalignment.
She uses a wide range of techniques including the Critz Technique (alignment), Orthobionomy, trigger point, deep tissue, acupressure, reflexology, myofascial release, pre-natal massage and aromatherapy.
Michelle Bardwell is the founder and president of Flower Road Natural Therapies. She received her 10-year Clinical Aromatherapy education in France from one of the world’s leading Naturopathic doctors and Aromatologists — Dr. Patrick Collin. Michelle’s education also includes Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Bach Flower Essences, Clay Therapies and Leech Therapy under the prestigious Madame Anne Portier. This comprehensive educational opportunity has given Michelle a deep understanding of the intricacies of wellness. Shanti Webb Nolen is our cross-disciplinary, multi-talented teacher and singer with a truly angelical voice that resonates at a cellular level and speaks to the Heart. Douchka met her at Cosmic Cafe almost 10 years ago as she was reconnecting to her yoga practice. Since then their paths have crossed and met several times, confirming that they shared a lot of common ground in how they express yoga as a powerful healing tool, in all its various aspects. Shanti is currently completing a 500-hr yoga training with the Himalayan Institute and brings her passion and dedication to a practice she lives and embodies. Douchka is a 200-hour Yoga Alliance experienced registered yoga teacher and an Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist with over a 10-year experience in yoga science. With a vast knowledge on Ayurveda, nutrition and aromatherapy, she considers herself an “eternal” student. She constantly questions, explores and researches on therapies, systems and techniques that could enhance her life experience and support a deeper and better understanding of the Self. She’s committed to her true mission of sharing her experiential and universal yoga and tools with others. In 2011, she co-founded Yana Shala with the mission of developing a community-based platform providing education and resources through workshops, seminars, lectures, trainings and retreats for self-development and personal growth. And she is the director of Manifest Your Inner Teacher, our teacher training and advanced yoga studies program in Dallas/Fort Worth.
